In 2000 Arden building servicesl laid the patio at the rear of our house together with retaining walls. We were delighted with the result and it has been much admired over the years. It still looks as good as new. The front of the house had a boundary comprising of a mixed hedge which, being over 10 years old was starting to look very “leggy”. It was also high maintenance . The remainder of the frontage was a mixture of gravel and slabs with pots and tubs, all of which required watering. We decided that we would ask Arden building services to completely remove the existing frontage and relay the whole area with Marshall’s Calder Brown paving, the hedge being replaced with a cavity wall in which we could grow colourful but drought resistant plants such as lavender. The number of tubs has been radically reduced! The result is excellent and we have had many positive comments. The plants in the wall are already colourful. We have gained an additional parking space and the whole area is now a level and useful surface. Another excellent piece of work by Arden building services.

We have just had our patio laid by Nigel; he has done a great job, and I am very pleased with the result. From providing us with the quote, to helping us select the slabs, and carrying out the work, Nigel has been prompt and professional. Inevitably things needed to be changed as the work was carried out but this was not a problem. If you want a job done properly then I would recommend Nigel - you may get cheaper quotes, but you are unlikely to find anyone who will do a good a job. I would recommend him.

Nigel explained the work involved and timescales required to complete it to a highly satisfactory finish. He achieved both in a cheerful manner. One of very few tradesmen that I have found reliable and have had pleasure in using and feel safe in recommending.

We had our driveway done. Quality job done, would definitely recommend if you want a pukka job doing. There are cheaper people out there but they tend to turn up on horses wearing ten gallon hats. Its worth paying a bit extra and getting the job done properly.

This is the second time we have used Nigel's services to do our patio and garden. Once again a creative and professional job. It is most reassuring to have the resident builders (we are on a new ...estate) commenting on what a "cracking" job Nigel has done. The last time Nigel did our garden my brother-in-law reliably informed me that I could "park a truck" on our patio after seeing the foundations Nigel laid!
